How to Join the Free State Racing
- Read the 2010 Membership Handbook
- Fill out the Membership Application in the Membership Handbook and mail it along with annual dues to Free State Racing, c/o Curtis Martell, 2017 Melholland Rd, Lawrence, KS 66047.
- IMPORTANT: Join the FSR email list by sending an email to freestateracing-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
- After you join the FSR email list, visit the message archive at the FSR site on Yahoogroups.com
- Purchase a United States Cycling Federation Racing License at the USA Cycling website. Choose Free State Racing as your Club. Beginners and category 5 riders should select FSR Development Team as their team.

What is the difference between Free State Racing and the FSR Development Team?
Free State Racing is a USCF registered club and the FSR Developement Team is a USCF team organized within the Free State Racing club. Members of the FSR Development Team are also members of Free State Racing. The FSR Development Team is for USCF Category 5 riders only. Category 4 and above riders will join only the Free State Racing Team.
Do I have to Race to be on Free State Racing?
No, you can join as a Booster. Just fill out the FSR Membership Form and mail it along with the annual dues to the address listed.

Does Free State Racing have training rides scheduled?
Ride: Wesco Ride (Wednesday Night Ride)
When: Wednesday nights, various start times (5:00-6:00) from March-October
Where: Wescoe Hall, University of Kansas campus, Lawrence, KS
Description: 2-2.5 hour group ride. Moderate to high pace, several sprints along the way. Not much waiting for slower riders. Hang with the pack as long as you can. Great high intensity workout with 10 to 20 riders.
The best way to find out about local rides is to join the Free State Racing Email list. Training Ride information is distributed regulary via the email list.
