The Turnpike's Plaza 204, the I-70 interchange on North 2nd Street that provides access to US-59, US-40 and north Lawrence, is closed. Turnpike travelers in the Lawrence area can enter or exit the Turnpike at Plaza 202 (West Lawrence).

Directions from I-70: Take I-70 exit 202. Proceed south to highway 40/59 East (exit on right after going through underpass). Highway 40 is also 6th street. Be in the left lane as you approach Massachusetts St. Turn left at Massachusetts St and cross the Kansas River bridge. The intersection at the north end of the bridge (North Second and Locust) is under construction expect a short delay as the road becomes one lane. You will be forced to turn right on to Elm Street. Proceed east on Elm all the way to 8th Street and turn right (south). Follow 8th into the Rive Front Park parking lot.  

Directions from K-10: Turn north on Massachusetts Street. Proceed north through downtown. After the intersection of 6th and Massachusetts you will cross the Kansas River bridge. You will be forced to turn right on to Elm Street. Proceed east on Elm all the way to 8th Street and turn right (south). Follow 8th into the Rive Front Park parking lot.

Due to wet trail conditions and heavy rain that is forecast the River Trail Mountain Bike Challenge is postponed until Saturday April 10. Click here for all the race information.
